How to Clean a Hot Tub Filter or Spa Filter
We often get questions from our customers about how to clean a hot tub filter the right way. We've found that many are misinformed about the proper way to clean your filter, so we've put together a guide on the right way to do it in just 1 hour or less.
First, here's what you'll need to properly clean your hot tub filter
- Water hose
- 5 Gallon bucket of water
- AquaDoc's Fast Acting Spa Filter Clean Soak
The simple, and best way to clean a Spa or Hot Tub filter
STEP 1: Turn off the filter & remove the filter cartridge
STEP 2: Pick any large debris from the outside of the filter.Â
STEP 3: Fill a 5 Gallon bucket with water and pour the entire bottle of AquaDoc's Filter Cleaner into the bucket & mix. Avoid powders which can often clump up or not work as well.
STEP 4: Submerge the filter cartridge into the bucket and let it soak for 30 - 60 minutes depending on how dirty the cartridge is an how often you typically wash it. If time allows, it's best to leave for 60 minutes to be sure. With AquaDoc's fast acting solution, there is no need to soak overnight.
STEP 5: Pull filter cartridge out of the bucket and rinse off. Any filter cleaner left on the cartridge could potentially cause excess foaming, so it's best to rinse it off before using it.
STEP 6: Insert filter back into your spa, turn your filter back on, and enjoy your hot tub.
Since spa filters should be soaked on a monthly basis, it's important that you plan ahead to have the right filter cleaner in your house ahead of time. Order our Fast Acting Filter Cleaner Soak today and you'll be set with the highest quality, US Made filter cleaning solution.
