Phosphates get into your hot tub every time you top off the water, every time pollen or leaves blow in, and every time someone climbs in wearing lotion or deodorant. They don't leave on their own, so they stack up week after week. AquaDoc Hot Tub Phosphate Remover is a natural enzyme spa formula that helps bring those levels back down, so your water stays clearer and your weekly routine stays manageable.
- Rinse or clean your filter. Balance pH to 7.2 to 7.4 and alkalinity to 80 to 150 ppm.
- Shake the bottle. With the pump running on its lowest setting, pour directly into the spa water.
- First treatment: 1 oz per 100 gallons.
- Weekly maintenance: 1 to 2 oz per 500 gallons.
- High phosphates (over 1,000 ppb): 8 oz for any spa size. Double the dose for swim spas.
- Wait 24 hours before shocking.
- Rinse your filter after 48 hours. Retest phosphates after one week and retreat if needed.
1 capful = 1/2 oz. 2 capfuls = 1 oz. Spa use can resume right after application. Some sediment in the bottle is normal and harmless to your spa and users. Rinse filters once a month for best results.

Where do phosphates in my hot tub come from?
Mostly from fill water, leaves, pollen, lotions, deodorants, and other body care products. They build up gradually with normal use, which is why weekly treatment matters more than a one-time dose.
Why is my water cloudy after adding it?
That’s normal. The formula is binding phosphates into particles. Keep the spa circulating and your filter will catch them as the water clears.
Is foaming normal?
Yes. Light foam after dosing means the enzymes are working, and it settles down on its own.
Do I need to drain my hot tub first?
No. Pour it straight into the water with the pump running on low. You can get back in right after.
Will it work in my saltwater hot tub?
Yes, and it’s a good fit there. Untreated high phosphates can lead to poor salt cell generator performance, so regular use helps support your system.
Can I use it with my other spa chemicals?
Yes, it works alongside all your other spa products. Just wait 24 hours after dosing before you shock.
Do I need to clean my filter?
Yes. Rinse or clean it before treating so it can catch the bound phosphates, then rinse again about 48 hours later.
How is this different from AquaDoc Spa Enzyme?
Spa Enzyme focuses on breaking down oils and lotions and reducing odors. Phosphate Remover targets phosphate buildup, with enzymes added for waterline help. They work well together in the same routine.
