How to Open Your Pool with the AquaDoc Pool Opening Kit

🧼 AquaDoc Pool Opening Kit Instructions

For Above Ground and Inground Pools

Before you begin

  • Refill your pool to the normal water level
  • Remove your pool cover and clean out any debris
  • Turn on your filtration system and let it run continuously through the opening process

✅ Step 1: Test and Balance Your Pool Water

Use: Test Strips

  • Dip a test strip into your pool water
  • Check for pH, chlorine, alkalinity, and hardness

  • Ideal levels:
    • pH: 7.2 to 7.6
    • Total Alkalinity: 80 to 120 ppm
    • Chlorine: 1 to 3 ppm
    • Calcium Hardness: 200 to 400 ppm

💥 Step 2: Shock the Pool

Use: Quick Dissolving Shock (2 x 1 lb packs)

  • Use both packs or 1 lb per 10,000 gallons
  • Add directly to the pool with the pump running
  • Best added in the evening or at dusk
  • Brush pool walls and floor to help distribute
  • Let the filter run for at least 8 hours or overnight

🧪 Step 3: Add Pool Starter

Use: Pool Starter (16 oz bottle)

  • Wait until chlorine is below 3 ppm
  • Pour the full bottle evenly around the edge of the pool

🧼 Step 4: Treat for Stains and Scale

Use: Stain & Scale (32 oz)

  • Pour the entire bottle around the perimeter with pump running
  • Let circulate for 4 to 6 hours

🧊 Step 5: Clear Up Cloudy Water

Use: Pool Water Clarifier (32 oz)

  • Use 4 oz per 10,000 gallons
  • Pour directly into the pool with pump running
  • Let circulate for 6 to 8 hours
  • Vacuum debris if needed

🌿 Step 6: Prevent Algae Growth

Use: Double Whammy Algaecide (32 oz)

  • Only use after chlorine drops and water is clear
  • Add 4 oz per 10,000 gallons
  • Let circulate for at least 4 hours
  • Weekly maintenance: 2 oz per 10,000 gallons

🔁 Additional Notes

  • Keep filter running during the full process
  • Retest water 24 hours after completing all steps
  • Store unused chemicals in a cool, dry place
